Applicatin
- As a bonding agent for placing fresh, plastic concrete to existing hardened concrete and steel.
- may be used to bond epoxy mortars, fresh cementitious mortar to a wide variety of surfaces including mineral substrates (concrete, brick, stone, mortar, fibrous cement),
- Wood, iron and steel and cured epoxy mortars.
Advantages
- Easy application by brush or roller.
- Excellent adhesion to most building materials even when damp.
- Solvent-free – can be used in enclosed locations.
- Highly resistance against sea water, crude oil, some chemicals after curing.
Instructions for Use
Surface Preparation
Surface must be clean and sound. It may be dry or damp, but free of standing water. Remove surface contaminants i.e. dust, grease, curing compounds, impregnations, waxes, foreign particles and disintegrated materials.
Concrete: Sandblast or use other approved mechanical means.
Steel: Sandblast to white metal finish.
Mixing
FARTEX 333 is supplied in 2 separated pre-weight packages, pour part B into part A and mix slowly with low-speed drill and Jiffy type mixer (200–300) rpm until a homogenous mixture with the same color is achieved.
Only mix as much as can be applied within 30 minutes.
Application
- FARTEX 333 is applied by brush or roller, Apply the entire surface and filling holes or cavities. The fresh concrete can be placed against the bonder after it has reached its tack stage. If the epoxy achieves a cure before the concrete placement then re-application of the epoxy bonder will be necessary.
- High temperatures will cause shorter pot life and open time, keep the containers at 18-25˚c, 24 hours prior to application.
- Low temperatures will increase the viscosity which results in difficult to apply and higher consumption.
Coverage
The consumption depends on surface profile, texture, temperature and wastage.
Generally it is about 400 to 800 g/m². s as:
A=1000 g, B=500 g, C=4000 g
Packaging
FARTEX 333 is supplied in:
A: 2 kg, B: 1 kg
Storage and Shelf life
6 month when stored in the unopened container in a dry location at 5 to 35˚c.
