FARCOPLUG

Uses

FARCOPLUG is used to stops running water or active moisture seepage through holes, cracks or joints in concrete or masonry.

Method of use Surface preparation

• The surface should be clean and free from unsound materials, oil, grease and other contaminants.
• Flush away all loose materials and dirt from the cavity with stiff wire brush or water jet.
• Rout out crack or holes by chiseling or chipping to minimum dovetail shaped space (Do not use a V cut)

Mixing

• Since FARCOLUG sets rapidly, do not Mix more material than necessary that can be used in 1 to 2 minutes. Make trial mixes first to better judge the cure parameters for the specific job conditions.
• Add clean water to FARCOPLUG in a clean container at a ratio of approximately 250 to 300 g water per kg of dry powder. Mix quickly with gloved hand to give a stiff. Putty-like consistency.

Application

• Using a rubber gloved hand or trowel press and compact the mixed plug into place until setting has occurred.
• Depending on the condition and temperature FARCOPLUG starts to set 15 seconds after mixing and hardened after 2 minutes.
• Long, leaking cracks should be started at the least active or highest point and work in stages to the most active or lowest point.
• Where there is a high Volume of water flow due to extreme hydrostatic pressure, sealing of such a place is best achieved by inserting a short length of plastic hose in to the most active end of chased crack and packing up to it with FARCOPLUG to force water through the hose, this relieves the pressure so that the owe a can be patched
• After full hardening the hose can be removed and plug remaining hole.
• For controlling the setting time of FARCOPLUG in different ambient temperatures use water with adjusted temperature and keep the powder packages in suitable areas.

Notes:

• Not recommended for movement joints
• Do not remix after setting
• Do not use a V cut
• Do not apply on unclean and unsound substrate
