Application

On building elements such as conventional plaster, structural concrete, fiberboard, brick wall ,gypsum board , gypsum plaster.

Instruction for Use

Surface Preparation

• Surface must be sound, clean, dry and free from all defects or poorly adhering material, dirt, grease or wax. If necessary, clean with high pressure water jetting.
• Fill, repair or level the uneven concrete surfaces, cracks and honey combings with polymer modified (SA12 OR SA46) mortars or FARCOTOP 50(KASMATIK).
• For rendering, use fresh cement, good quality sand and in order to reduce plastic shrinkage and secondary reinforcement add P.P fiber, damp cure the newly applied cement mixture for few days to have the highest quality of substrate for subsequent coatings.
• The newly applied cementitious based substrates should be allowed to cure at least 28 days before painting.

Dilution

As the viscosity of EMOCOLOUR is high, dilute with clean water 20-30% by weight of paint.

Application

• Application temperature should be higher than 10°c.
• Application of EMOCOLOUR is not recommended if rain is expected within 24 hours, in case of rainfall after coating, protect the surfaces for hours.
• Prime the surface with diluted EMOCOLOUR PRIMER as 🙁 1 part primer + 3parts water) by brush, apply EMOCOLOUR at min 3 hours after priming, recoat during 24 hours if required.
• It is recommended, for improving the performance and durability of painted surfaces in rainy areas apply the primer with the same dilution ratio as above on top.

The performed primer is a little bit glossy; it can be mixed with small amount of EMOUCOLOR to make it matt.

Coverage

Methods of application: brush, roller and air or airless pumps. The consumption depends on the surface texture and porosity for instance:

Plain concrete and cementitious surfaces:

300-400gr/m² (3 layers)

Textured surfaces: 400-500 g/m² (3 layers)

Cement boards and cement-asbestos:

150-200gr/m² (3 layers)
