FARTEX 2000

Uses

• Sewage treatment plants
• Basements, Tunnels, elevator pits reservoirs, foundations and pipes
• Manholes, subway stations and mines
• Repairing the hair crack on the surface of concrete

Advantages

• Recommended for use with potable water
• Concrete surface can breathe after application a treated concrete resists de-icing salt and chemical attack of sewage and industrial wastes and carbonation.
• Permanent waterproofing and active to react all the time
• No need for primer and surface leveling
• Effective water proofing treatment against hydrostatic pressure-both positive and negative.

Method of use

Surface preparation

• Surfaces must be clean and sound. Remove all oil, dirt, laitance and coatings and any product which resist penetration of FARTEX 2000 by water blasting.
• For optimum crystallization the surface must have an open capillary system and well absorptive, it is recommended to remove the surface layer with sandblasting.
• Concrete defects, cracks, honeycombs must be opened removed and routed to sound material
• Surface must be saturated for application of FARTEX 2000
• Repair the prepared area with pasty FARTEX 2000

Mixing

• Mix 1 part clean potable water to 2 parts powder by volume for brush and spray application
• Mix 1 part clean potable water to 3 parts powder by volume for repair
• Mix thourouly with slow speed drill to homogenous and lump free slurry, if mixture thickens, re-stir to reduce consistency.

Application

• The surface must be pre dampened
• Can be applied with a brush, broom or spray
• Fill the cracks and defects with part form of FARTEX 2000
• Mix enough slurry to be applied in less than 20 minuets
• Apply the second layer after first coat has taken an initial set. If the first coat has dried out, moisten surfaces before applying second coat. The previous coat must not be damaged during application of the following coat.
• The treated surfaces which are to be coated or painted must be cleaned and the cured product removed by acid etching or water or sand basting at least 28 days after application.

Curing

• The treated surfaces must be dampened for at least 5 days, every 8 hours
• For concrete with high porosity, curing should be extended

Consumption

700 g to 1200 g for each coat depending on the substrate porosity and condition.
