CONCRETE LABORATORY
Concrete is one of the construction materials which is used for instant urban and industrial buildings. To have standard concrete, it must be processed correctly and with a standard format. With standard having sand and cement, standard concrete is not necessarily obtained. In Shimisakhteman Concrete Laboratory we examine the steps of concrete manufacturing, like how to make the proper concrete, how to achieve the desired strength, how to face with corrosive conditions, how to build durable concrete etc.
Shimisakhteman laboratory aside from meeting the company’s needs perform as a laboratory cooperating with partners and standard organisation.
Concrete laboratory reports are as follows:
Determination of aggregate sieve analysis, specific gravity and water absorption of sand and coarse aggregates, flow measurement by slump, slump flow, V-funnel, L-box, J-ring and also determination of compressive strength of concrete in addition to flexural, tensile, and compressive strength of grouts.
Tests is also performed on concrete according to ASTM C666 for freeze and thaw cycles, water pressure penetration test and RCPT to evaluate durability.
In addition to its R&D unit, Shimisakhteman company has various laboratories for its production. The concrete laboratory is one of the Shimisakhteman labs. By building a concrete laboratory, the company has taken an effective step in optimizing concrete. At present, the factory’s concrete laboratory, in addition to serving various industries, has been working closely with the Iranian Standards Organization and the technical colleges and Iranian Building Research Center and the Iranian Concrete Association.
CONTROL OPERATIONS IN SHIMISAKHTEMAN CONCRETE LABORATORY
Control of raw materials
All concrete components and concrete admixtures are being tested according to their usage. Products are approved and entered into the manufacturing process if they meet the specifications of ISIRI 2930 part 1 and 2 and functional tests.
For all concrete admixtures products, chemical tests are performed and functional tests is also randomly fabricated on the products according to the production tonnage.

Various tests are performed on manufactured products:
Uniformity – Colour – Effective Compounds – Density – Dry matter – PH – Total Chlorine – Water Soluble Chloride – Alkaline by mass, Functional Admixture Testing Complies with all Tables 2930-2 Standard.
