Tile Adhesive Laboratory
Tile adhesive is one of the materials needed in constructions. Due to the mass use of plaster boards and cement boards, it is not always possible to use traditional mortar for tiling. Tile Adhesives Laboratory of Shimisakhteman company is amongst well-equipped laboratories in the field of tile adhesion testing. Our laboratory unit also operates as a standard partner laboratory.
What we do in this Laboratory is to control the quality of the products and the pre-production processes. We establish variety of analyses in this Laboratory. As a standard partner laboratory in the field of tile adhesives, we are authorized to perform standard tests for requirements, classifications and identifications based on ISIRI 12492, EN 12004 reference.
The product quality control operation in shimisakhteman laboratory consists of three steps. Control of raw materials, laboratory production and order of production, quality control of the final product. Below is a brief description of the activity in this section.
Tile adhesive control operation in Shimisakhteman Raw material control:
All components of tile adhesives are controlled by experts and standard methods and the desired tile adhesive will be produced at the end.
After the testing and verification process according to ISIRI12492 and EN12004 materials and components are manufactured in adhesives and then processed into the manufacturing process.
After producing different batches, the sample will be sent to the laboratory and initial tests are carried out in accordance with Standard 12492. Upon product qualification, packaging will have the permits. After the product is packed, the tile adhesives are randomly sampled out to perform some functional tests on them.
Functional tests on cement based adhesives and dispersion adhesives are different.
Functional tests on cement based adhesives
- Primary tensile adhesion strength
- Tensile adhesion resistance after the exposure to heat
- Tensile adhesion resistance after immersion in water
- Tensile adhesion strength after being frozen
- Sag resistance
- Open time after at least 20 minutes
These tests are fundamental to the tile adhesive. If the product fails one of these tests, then it has no use. These tests are performed daily on sampled products. Samples taken from the production line are kept in the laboratory for six months.
